Vania Ashminova

Vania Ashminova (Kenanova) joined Myeloid as a Senior Director of the Antibody Discovery and Engineering Group in March 2022. She brings a broad range of antibody discovery, protein engineering, protein expression and characterization experience relevant to our pipeline projects. Prior to joining Myeloid, she held positions at Novartis, Agenus, TCR2 Therapeutics, and UCLA where she supported the generation of biologics (antibodies, antibody fragments, proteins) as drugs or diagnostics. Her areas of expertise include carrying immunization campaigns or panning synthetic antibody libraries, biochemical and biophysical characterization of binders, antibody/protein engineering in the final format, production of anti-idiotypic antibodies and reagents for translational research, conjugation chemistry and ELISA based ADA study designs. Vania holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology and Chemistry from the California Polytechnic University in Pomona, Doctor of Philosophy Degree from the Irell and Manella Graduate School of Biological Sciences at the City of Hope Cancer Center. .
